Surf the web to find a writing topic

Find a research database

Don’t use a typical or common topic

Examine your assigned topics by using

- Trends

- Controversies

- Places

- Impact

Steps for developing for a working knowledge

- Begin with a google search

- Search general and subject encyclopedias

- Use the internet public library

- Try google scholar

- Build a bibliography
